Your 30-day plan

Every day has one clear learning outcome, and every week ends with a checkpoint you must be able to explain and demonstrate.

Week1
Architect the Application
Days 1–5

Goal: Move from pages to application architecture.

  1. Day01

Distinguish websites from applications using data, state and workflows.

  2. Day02

Convert requirements into features, flows and entities.

  3. Day03

Understand frontend, backend, API, database and authentication responsibilities.

  4. Day04

Choose a stack with AI and explain practical trade-offs.

  5. Day05

Design an application architecture before implementation.

Checkpoint: The student should be able to explain the ideas in their own words, use AI to implement or investigate them, inspect the result, and make a meaningful change.
Week2
Engineer the Frontend
Days 6–10 Mini Project 1

Goal: Build structured frontends with JavaScript, TypeScript and React.

  1. Day06

Understand modern JavaScript needed for applications.

  2. Day07

Understand why TypeScript improves maintainability and AI-generated code.

  3. Day08

Explain components, props, state, events, forms and conditional rendering.

  4. Day09

    Structure React components sensibly.

  5. Day10

Use AI to build/refactor while reviewing state and component behaviour.

Checkpoint: The student should be able to explain the ideas in their own words, use AI to implement or investigate them, inspect the result, and make a meaningful change.
Mini Project 1 is introduced this week — you choose one idea, then build it over two independent studio days. See project details
Week3
Connect
Days 11–15

Goal: Connect UI, APIs, backend services and persistent data.

  1. Day11

Understand HTTP, API contracts, methods, status codes and errors.

  2. Day12

Build/generate backend endpoints and connect them to the frontend.

  3. Day13

    Understand CRUD and database mapping.

  4. Day14

Handle loading, empty, validation, success and error states.

  5. Day15

Trace UI → API → backend → database → response.

Checkpoint: The student should be able to explain the ideas in their own words, use AI to implement or investigate them, inspect the result, and make a meaningful change.
Week4
Build Intelligent Features
Days 16–20 Mini Project 2

Goal: Build AI capabilities as application features.

  1. Day16

Understand where AI belongs in an application architecture.

  2. Day17

    Build an AI-powered feature using a model/API.

  3. Day18

Understand embeddings, retrieval and RAG at application level.

  4. Day19

Design prompts and context around workflows.

  5. Day20

Recognize hallucination, latency, cost, privacy and failure concerns.

Checkpoint: The student should be able to explain the ideas in their own words, use AI to implement or investigate them, inspect the result, and make a meaningful change.
Mini Project 2 is introduced this week — you choose one idea, then build it over two independent studio days. See project details
Week5
Production-Ready Engineering
Days 21–25

Goal: Make applications safer, testable, performant and cross-browser.

  1. Day21

Understand authentication, authorization, sessions/tokens and validation.

  2. Day22

Create meaningful tests for components, APIs and user flows.

  3. Day23

    Diagnose performance using measurements.

  4. Day24

Test responsive behaviour and major browsers.

  5. Day25

Use Git and understand CI/CD's role in delivery.

Checkpoint: The student should be able to explain the ideas in their own words, use AI to implement or investigate them, inspect the result, and make a meaningful change.
Week6
Ship & Defend the Application
Days 26–30 Capstone

Goal: Operate a complete application workflow.

  1. Day26

Understand builds, deployments, environment variables and secrets.

  2. Day27

Debug production-style issues using logs, browser tools and API responses.

  3. Day28

Review architecture for maintainability and bottlenecks.

  4. Day29

Explain technical decisions and evidence from testing.

  5. Day30

Ship a complete application with production-oriented practices.

Checkpoint: The student should be able to explain the ideas in their own words, use AI to implement or investigate them, inspect the result, and make a meaningful change.
Capstone — a dedicated production and planning day, then you build independently and return for review after one week. See project details
How every session works

The studio pattern behind all 30 days

  1. story
  2. learn
  3. AI use
  4. live build
  5. analyze
  6. experiment
  7. streamline

Our AI philosophy

Students use AI to accelerate implementation, but must understand the important generated code/configuration and test changes.

Projects

Build, ship and defend your work

Two mini projects and a market-oriented capstone. You use AI to build faster — and you explain the important generated code and decisions.

How Mini Project 1 works

Students choose one idea. The project is introduced with 30 extra minutes on the introduction day. After introduction, use two independent studio work days for implementation; these are student build days rather than new lecture sessions.

Minimum requirements

  • Solve a clear user problem.
  • Use the concepts covered before the project introduction.
  • Use AI for at least one research/design/build/debug/review task.
  • Keep an AI context/prompt log.
  • Demonstrate a working POC.
  • Explain the important generated code and one thing that was changed after analysis.

Submission checklist

  • Problem statement
  • Target user
  • Sitemap or architecture (depending on level)
  • Working POC
  • AI prompt/context notes
  • One before/after improvement
  • Known limitation
  • 2-minute demo
